George and Aurelia Salisbury having dinner with their friends Randy and Esther Randini who were also restaurant owners in 1940s Los Angeles. They owned Randini’s Restaurant a few blocks from El Cholo on Western Avenue, Randini was also a former opera singer and used to break out into song to entertain his guests. George and Aurelia’s son Ron was also at that restaurant that night but could not sit with the adults because the restaurant served alcohol, so he spent the night talking with the coat check girl near the entrance.
