Cecilia and Lenore sitting in one of the original El Cholo booths. The old booth style is visible in this photo. They had a panel on the outside to make the booth more intimate. However, people in the 30s and 40s were much smaller, with the average man and woman being 1 inch shorter and 25 pounds lighter than the average human of today. Not only did the panel have to be removed in the 1980’s but in 2017 the booths had to be disassembled and widened to accommodate the growing size of the average American.
