1963: HERE’S JOHNNY
Before Jack Nicholson was a major Hollywood Star, he was just a struggling actor. Back then Jack and a bunch of his friends would frequently stop by our Western location for his favorite meal; two tacos, a side of beans and plenty of hot coffee. That combo was only $0.95 at the time, well within this future multiple Academy Award-winner's budget. Jack and his friends would stay all night enjoying refill after refill.
I recall back in 1963 when Jack finally scored his first major film role. It was in the horror spoof “The Raven.” Jack and the guys dined at our Western location that night to celebrate his finally breaking through.
